I have a drip system set up on my deck. The deck gets full sun so I need to keep my plants hydrated. I have the drip set to go off every 4 hours for 5 minutes. The pots are filled with potting soil and nothing else. When the water goes off, even for the larger pots, it drains straight through and gets the deck all wet. I lowered the time interval to 2 minutes and same thing. Any cleaver ideas on how to keep the water in the pots. They are not saturated it seems the soil just does not have enough time to absorb the water. Thanks.
