TGG,

Do you know how to test with a volt-meter? Test if the voltage is getting to the solenoid. Test for continuity of the wire to the solenoid from the controller. Otherwise just replace the valve and solenoid. Let us know what happens. Aloha

Thanks for your reply. What if i test both leads and I'm not getting voltage through? What would be the next step?

And when you say to replace valve and solenoid, do you mean the entire assembly that is underground?

TGG,

Just touch one test-lead to the colored wire from the controller that goes to the the non-working solenoid and the other test lead to the common white wire from the controller and from the controller manually turn on that zone from the controller. Your meter should read 24 volts. Yes if all fails replace valve and solenoid which is probably underground in most systems but may not be in some systems. Connect one black lead to the original colored wire going to the controller and the other to the common white wire that goes to the common terminal in controller. good luck. Aloha

Befor replacing the valve I have two suggestions. First, if the valve has a flow control knob make sure it is open. Second if there is no power to the solenoid there is a broken wire to the valve. If there is power try a differant solenoid because I have seen brand new ones be bad.
