sounds like the wrong belt or a snapped spring and or cable. not sure what model you have but i would assume that it has a seperate handle to engage the auger; follow that down until it hooks unto watever engages the auger. then squeeze the handle to see if the wire is pulling correctly. id check all of those things and get back to us.
