I have a red jacket pump controlling my sprinkler system. It is at least 24 years old. It stopped pumping water, so I took it apart and found the impeller damaged. I can't find anyone who carries parts. I am a novice.

Two questions:

1. Does anyone know where I can get this part and is it worth it?

2. Can I replace the pump with a similar looking unit. It says 1 hp on housing and has an upper intake/outtake and lower intake/outtake. I saw one in Lowes, that had the same physical characteristics.
