My wife and I have planted 4 avodado trees in ground in the last few years. All were small when we got them. Every one of them drooped and dropped all their leaves. Now, one is about 15' tall and is finally producing a lot of fruit. The others which were planted 2-3 years later are 4-6 feet high with a lot of leaves. One has an avocado.

We don't know anything about growing avocados but just kept watering them lightly even after they each dropped all their leaves. Maybe we were lucky.

Same advice as U4 check the tree forum on proper care. You are in avo country and should try to maximize your yields. With that many trees you can sell your avos at the farmers market or keep your neighbors happy and in quac. GL Aloha
