Do your homework when buying hose reels.
I bought three Hozelok auto retract hose reels, this was a big mistake, it turned out to be one of the most unfortunate purchases I have
ever made. The casings are not big enough to accommodate the hose when the layering mechanism fails which it did in all my three after a very short time. In my opinion the layering mechanism is way too weak for the job and when it's belt drive jumps it's pulley it allows the hose to jam in the casing so it won't retract properly.
I think these are really badly designed and I wonder if any testing at all was done before marketing started. All three ended up in the tip.
I have since bought another make which are 1/2 the price and way better - performing as they should.
