Pros: Lower pricing, JD service and parts inventory support, good quality for pricing, narrower 42 in. deck gets you in tighter places, single cylinder gets you better fuel economy

Cons: Integrated pump/wheel motor drive units vs more expensive separate pump/motors, narrower width deck, single cylinder engine vs twin, smaller rear wheels, no powered bagger option....not really cons, just obvious differences from the next step up, the Z425 (which I have and really like).

I would do what every you can to buy the next up Z425. I know it is significally more pricey but factor in time of ownership and yearly ownership costs. I think you will be kicking yourself in just a few years if you get the Z225.

Lots sold, no problems. The EZT trans is an industry standard in lots of ZTRs and no one is screaming. Perfect for 1 acre.

I think the deck is the weakest link overall, not good for rough lawn, IE.. holes, stumps, large rocks, concrete sidewalks edges etcc...

Bare in mind its a light duty model.
