2 week old Adenium Obesum Seedlings!

About 2 weeks ago, I planted my Adenium Obesum seeds that I ordered from Rinoa.

I ordered 30 x Moon Waltz seeds and 30 x Galaxy Eye seeds. In total, I received 73 seeds and 54 germinated. All the seeds that germinated survived, and the ones that didn't germinate is due to the fact that they had sunken into the soil or were overwatered. I even managed to save the seedlings that had grown mold by using Chamomile tea. They're all happy and healthy now...with the exception of 5 very stubby and oddly shaped ones. I accidentally mixed all the seeds together when I soaked them before planting, so I have no idea which ones are which anymore!

Still though, 54 seedlings is a lot to have and I'm happy with them. AND They all have their first set of true leaves! My house is pretty cool so I'll be leaving the dome on, the heat mat and the plant light until they get a little larger.

Any suggestions on how to promote growth from this point forward?

Karatts, those seedlings look very good.
You need one spoon of patient and one spoonful of love....they will make you happy...

I love watching them grow! I can't wait to see how they grow. This is my first time sowing adenium seeds.

Always nice to see them heave the soil and yours are looking great. This might be the first, but possibly not the last.
They are interesting to see their character differences as they grow.

Being a first time grower, don't you wonder what are you going to do with all those babies ? I have just about the same amount of DR seedlings and not sure how to handle it all !

Rick, Thank you! I have already noticed some small differences. The first one that grew developed a reddish hue on the stem. I believe there are only one or two more with this trait right now.

Bill, I plan on keeping 4 of them. And selling the rest, once I see them flower...which means it may be 2 or 3 years before that happens! I will also most likely trade them or give them away c: What are your plans? Which blooms will yours have?

My blooms will look similar to these or a variation of these two...

Your seedlings look great. Marie is correct you will need a lot of patience to get through the early stages of these plants. Good luck.

I also admire Rick as he sees things in plants that really amaze me. In fact, because of him I look at my seedlings and plants with a much more detailed approach.

Kara, it is nice to have hope that your seedlings will grow into the color of it's mother, but don't hold your breath.

Most of desert rose (DR) seedlings will be pink.

I used to grow from seed by the hundreds, first with expensive seeds hope for double and triple blooms.....back in 2002 and forward....each summer I sow a large amount of seeds and NEVER get any unusual blooms.

Only grafted plant will get exactly of it's color.
