coming home

I feel like I have been away and haven't been any where.Due to losing Carl, then having so many health problems hit me,I crawled in bed and stayed there.I was just starting to feel like it was time to get up and out, then my little pekingnese died in Sept..I was sorting through some drawers for something and I found some seed Dempa had sent me of picotee cosmos and red dwarf coreopsis.Of course I cried and remember all the fun of wsing.I did not join one swap.I hardly collected any seed and just let my garden go this past yr.Now,I am ready to come home.I am going to get my miracle gro mix tomorrow.I have missed so many of you.Ever once in a while I would read some of the post here and at cottage garden but theres nothing like being part of this wonderful group. There are so many new names. It will take me a while to back track to see what everyone has been up to.

    Hi Annette,
So glad your feeling better. "it takes time" sounds so stupid at the time but is so true. Enjoy you ws.

Welcome home Annette, good to see you back. Yes, there are alot of newbies this season, and I'm sure they will all find WS as rewarding as we "oldies" have. Truth be told I haven't even given any thought to what I'll be WSing this year, guess I'm just getting old, LOL, but most of my beds are full from all the perennials I've winter sown in the past, so I'm kind of taking a small break this year.

Great to see you back, moonphase. There are always new swaps on the Round Robin Forum and I bet a lot of people would be willing to put your name on some packets. I know I would.

I'm a newbie. Rough year (understatement of the century). I'm so sorry. I've been there myself in the past, but am the WORST at knowing what to say. So send me an e-mail and I'll just send you some seeds.

I know this is one of the best places you could have come to after such difficult life experiences. It's nice to hear from you again. You are so right about coming home, so big hugs and a smile go out to you from a fellow winter sower.

Welcome Home Moonphase. I remember reading about your illness in conversations and doing searches to see how you were doing. I'm saying a prayer of praise for your return. Look forward to hearing about your gardens and the healing they provide. Nikki

When I signed on to post my first containers this year, one of my thoughts was, "Where is moonphase?"

When I started winter sowing last year, your beautiful pictures of all of your garden "rooms" were so inspiring and soothing. After your health issues last spring, I was so happy when you shared that you would not need the heart surgery that was being discussed at the time.

I am so sorry about your losses in recent months, Annette. I will put you in our prayers again, and I am glad I logged in today and saw this message from you.

    peace and blessings,
    Nora Belle

Dear Moonphase, I am new here, but glad that you are feeling well enough to begin to reach out to your friends from this great group. Your ability to do that is a positive sign that you are making progress, even if it may not feel like it. I'm sure you can tell that everyone here is truly sorry for the sad times you have been going through and your losses. I have two close friends who have had some deep sorrow to deal with in the past and it seems that there is really nothing anyone can do to ease the pain. But, knowing there are so many who care for you, hopefully will help you get through the darkness. Spring, with its joy and flowers, will be returning to your life again. Take care and I hope to get to know you through your posts and the beautiful photos you must share here. Debby

Moonphase: I'm a recently-retired newbie (just been on here a few weeks), but I have to say this is one of the friendliest, nicest groups I have met online. Sorry to hear of your losses--I've been there, too--but gardening has always pulled me back to my old self. May it be for you also.

Good to meet you Moonphase: I'm another one of the "newbies" this year and I agree, this is a fabulously nice group of people. Your spirit obviously needs to heal and be silent. It sounds like maybe the blanket of sorrow is sliding around and you're making efforts to crawl out from under. That may feel like you're abandoning your hubby & puppy...BUT NO....what a more beautiful way to add joy to the world than adding life to your garden surroundings in their name and memory! Welcome back! I'd love to see photos of those garden rooms "norabelle" mentioned. Here's a great big grubby garden HUGGGGGGG!

Welcome back Moonphase! I'm yet another newbie.. I started WS'ing last year.. then my mom found out she had cancer.. that turned into a long ugly battle and I lost most of my WS plants due to neglect.. then I lost my mom :( So this year I am starting all over with WS'ing, am also now living in what was my mom's house now. It's very bittersweet. But somehow ... there truly is healing to be found in digging your fingers into the dirt, starting new life, watching your 'babies' grow.. Welcome back and I'm glad to meet you :)

    Hugs,
    Wendy

Winter sowing and sharing the experience does have a wonderful healing effect for the soul. Moonphase, I'm so glad you found your way back. I was here in 04/05 and came back this fall. It's one of the best things I could have done for myself. I'm so sorry for your losses. I hope the new year brings you many blessings.

Wendy, I'm sorry about the loss of your mother! I'm sure she'd be very pleased to see what you're doing with the place!
