Anybody here try winter sowing buckeyes? A neighbor gave my grandsons a few and I thought it would be fun for them to turn them into trees---especially since we live in Ohio! I found an old post where some one got seedlings via the refrigerator method but I think she said she eventually lost them all but another lady who planted hers outside in the fall had great success. Too late to plant them in the ground here as the ground is frozen so I am thinking of potting them up and setting them out in the snow with other winter sown pots. Anyways I was wondering if someone here had any experience with winter sown buckeyes. Any tips? Did you have success?
