Old sears mower with a 12 HP B@S motor. Motor number is 281707 0412 01. carb kit shows to be 394698 on line. Very erratic acting carb, Will run good,then when restarting it a little later,will sometimes flood then at times seems like its not getting gas. At times when I turn it off,gas will collect in input chamber(next to choke). Dont understand how gas can collect there,as its higher than the bowl. It acts like the needle and seat is leaking,but when I remove the bowl,it is not overly full and gas stops when I raise float by hand and runs when I let it drop. Have tried adjusting the needle and seat,only a little better. So I will put a kit in it. Also it runs better with the carb adjusti screw(on bottom of bowl) screwed all the way in. Hope the kit gives good instructions on adjusting the float. It has a very good flow of gas from the tank to carb.(could it have too much) Anything else I should look for when replacing the carb lit.
