Brush mowers

I have a steep area- maybe 20 degree slope, and it is ~ 1 acre. It is covered in all sorts of weeds, and this year, a bunch of cherry saplings that I need to get rid of. The growth is about 2-4 feet high. I feel it is too steep to safely get my lawn tractor on. I tried my sting trimmer with a gator blade, and it worked but too much to do this way. Any suggestions for the best type of brush mower? I have found big string trimmers, and big walk behind mowers. I am considering hiring this out for the initial cut, then trying to get something to keep it in bounds.

There are walk behind brush trimmers such as Billy Goats, Bachtold, DRs. They are rentable as well so you can tackle it yourself and see if they worth while to purchase for your lot.

Check out Wise and MowersDirect.
Better yet, use an animal such as a goat.
Is this large enough for a childrens ball field ?
Make them tend to it...

Maybe try a walk behind Billy Goat. You can probably rent it locally, per day.

Longer term, consider planting the hillside. Around here, the larger junipers work great for that (prefer full sun). It takes a couple of years to get them started, then they will own the hill.
