You can WS perennial geraniums and they sprout quite well, and are often early sprouters too.

Pelargoniums are too tender an annual and should be sown outside after last frost.

I waited till after frost and summer sowed my tender geraniums and they did well up and after the first few frosts.

Trudi and floodthelast: when did your pelargoniums start to bloom?

I've never wintersown them. But I did take cuttings last fall from one plant and can't believe how well they've done. I stuck them in dirt and they thrived, have been blooming under lights.

Mine felt late but I didn't plant them out right away either. I'm sure it was nearly fall.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. I guess I'm better off sticking with my few cuttings. Maybe I'll propagate a few more of them from cuttings.
