Trudi needs to ...

It just hit me as I was searching my DVR for my favorite gardening shows...

Trudi needs to start her own Winter Sowing gardening TV show!!!

I have never seen it on any show.

She can do segments on Containers and Labels. And Newbie questions. And have all of you Master Winter Sowers do guest spots and show pics of your WSown beds in bloom!!!! It would be awesome. I would watch and record everytime. lol

She would make a great guest on shows like Good Morning America and Live With Regis and Kelly! I have never seen anything on tv about Winter Sowing! Maybe we should all start sending letters?

I wonder if Martha Stewart knows how to Winter Sow?

I think that would be a wonderful idea! Wonder what Trudi thinks of it? hehe :-)

Then again, it's kind of like being in an exclusive club isn't it? :P

That would be a good start.
Then she can write a book to make money and then start her own show. She could travel to everyone's gardens and do shows ... like on A Gardener's Diary and Victory Gardens. Paul James does 99% of his shows from his own yard.
    Don't you all think so?
Then we can get her on Jerry Springer talking about HOS! haha (sorry just couldnt resist that one)

Oh Wendy that is true too. maybe we dont want the whole world to know how to have flower gardens as nice as ours. I know it is always a competition between my next door neighbor and I:) I looked out my window back in sept. and she was in my yard with paper bags collecting seeds. (I would have given them to her. but it was funny to catch her sneaking)

Naw.... if she's goin' on Springer she can talk about HOS, but I am quite sure the audience will be more interested in her jugs.

omg.... imagine the amazement when the audience realizes she has flowers coming out of her jugs.

Well, the winter-sowing method would be great for a segment of a gardening show, not a whole TV show unto itself. I don't mean to sound cynical, but it is unlikely that wsing would attract many sponsors. Most of the horticultural trade would see this method as taking money away from their business, because who needs to buy plants when you can start hundreds of your own? One exception would be the seed companies. They probably LOVE WSer's. :)

    Maybe some Youtube videos?

I agree, what about the PBS stations?

I really, really want to see Martha Stewart's version of wintersowing. Imagine all the fancy little containers she'd use. Faberge eggs, old crystal candy jars, what else would she have lying around that would make a handy container? :)

Discovery Channel has their Green series, I think WSing would fit right in!

I do think a bunch of YouTube videos should be made. 1st question: how do you make one? Can you use video from a digital camera?

I agree with stage rat. Can you really image Martha installing a milk jug pot ghetto at Turkey Hill? Or more accurately, have her STAFF intall a milk jug pot ghetto, then claiming she had done it herself? For that matter, by the time the segment was over, Martha will have convinced herself that SHE came up with the method of Winter Sowing, and probably invented all of gardening herself! Yep, Jerry's a better bet!

I like Martha Stewart and thinks she has good tips(probably taken from someone else). But the last comment was so true and made me laugh out loud :)
