- no - do not bury them that deep - you imagine how hard it will be for the babies to get to the surface.

You can let some leaves stay in water and produce water babies and pot some leaves almost horizontally so the rooted end will be may be 1/2 - 1" deep. I would put a fresh potted leaf in a plastic bag to give it some help like in a little greenhouse - not in a sunny window- otherwise it will get too hot in a bag. Now your leaf needs to grow new soil roots instead of water roots so it can use some extra humidity.
