I'm nearly done with my perennials. The 2-liter containers have finally thawed today. They've been frozen solid since I put them out on Jan 1.

Flats just go out and sit on top of the ice or snow. The only precaution I'm taking is to make sure the back steps aren't icy--I don't want to slip when I go outside.

I made sure to shovel the patio after our last snow, so that it wouldn't turn into a big slab of ice, and there's no more snow in the forecast, so I shouldn't have any trouble getting the containers out there. I've only done 7 containers so far though.

I am WAY behind tis year,seems i have been busy with other things, so far have only done maybe 30.
I am getting bust later today though.
We got a lot of snow yesterday and more today,We have never had this much snow in one year, i do not like it one bit,

I have been sticking mine in snow since Dec 21st. Today all my containers are covered with snow. I shovel out the path from the door so I don't fall and stomp through the snow in my boots. I was able to push my containers into the snow pretty far. I skipped shoveling a space for them.

I figure if the snow melts ever it will water them slightly. It is more of a pain in the snow but it is do able.

Just do what you have to. I do 6-12 containers at a time usually. This way I can just go outside quickly. I have gotten 100 done this way.

Weve been getting over 150 inches of snow the last couple of years and all the weight of the snow with any ice we get has actually been enough to crumple the milk jugs. Im waiting a little big longer.

OF course.. weve had like no snow this year, we only have 12 inches or so on the ground! HA and maybe 20 inches for the year so far. Way below normal. Which is great! I can take winters like this! Im hoping for around 80 inches this year! That would be A OK WITH ME! Our first under 100 inches in like 5 years!
