The ones with sprouts were put out the first two weeks of January. Remember, we had several days in the mid 60s and even made it to 68 here one afternoon. So you'll see sprouts usually of things like rudbeckia, dianthus, siberian wallflower, malva, maybe hollyhocks, and nicotiana earlier than other perennials. Coneflowers can take a while. So can lots of others.

Most of the sprouting seems to start when the nights get to around 40 degrees for about a week.
