question about own root neptune

i bought this rose on opening day at my local rose nursery, and it was the finest looking specimen; a two year old field grown plant. huge canes in all of the right places too. i thought for sure tha this one would surely be the most vigorous in the garden this year. it is probably the slowest to do anything ironically; i am taking into account that own root takes a little longer to establish, etc. my luck with HT's is not very good either. i should also mention that when i bought this rose, i also bought an own root wild blue yonder and it was beautiful specimen too. each got planted the same day, one in a large pot, and the neptune in the ground. the WBY is like a rocket in growth, wheras the neptune is maybe a foot tall after three months. any suggestions?
