adamark - It was 14F below zero here this morning. I had my polar fleece ski hat on plus layers of clothes & a shawl while I sipped my morning tea. I kept the window shades pulled down until almost 10 a.m. to keep the cold out.

Here's what I entered in my winter sowing log:
January 15, 2011: minus 11 @ 6:21 a.m.; minus 5 @ 10:00 a.m.

The winter sowing will be there when you get home again.

Do these help?

Adamark...You got the WS Flu! I could def. leave for some hot sun right now. However, I would be anxious about my Feb sowing. Pretty Pictures!

I haven't seen a snow like that since I was a kid. I miss playing in it and having enough snow to build a snow man. At the same time though I would love to be at the beach with my toes in the sand!!

Quick question for Gardenweed..... In picture #3 are your winter sown crates stacked?

Thank you

Dorothy

meadows - that crate in photo #3 is the only one I've got so the answer to your question is no, my WS crates are not stacked. I found that one in the garage back in November and decided to use it since it holds exactly 6 gallon-size milk jugs. All the other jugs are sitting on the concrete or else up on some boards I laid over the top of plastic end tables and square planters. I was aiming to not bend over so far to check my jugs for sprouts this time. Last year I nearly ruined my back doing that.

Aren't we all?

I am escaping to the south for a few weeks this year and feeling a tiny bit unsettled knowing that my ws is being postponed.
