thanks for the warning wow what a night mare. This is my first winter sowing Iam gonna use tongue depressors or mini blinds but am using a new shower curtain a clear one. I dont know how often to cut holes in it i have bricks around edge one layer 4x6 area compost, do you bury the seeds like clematis,coriopis,butterfly bush or just on surface of soil.

I just used popsicle sticks stuck into the soil with a black sharpie. When I plant out I put the stick with them, it eventually denigrates into the dirt the way mulch does. After a while I'm beginning to learn what seedlings are what - but I also like the cottage look so I just put tall things in back and short things in front. Lol* I know a lot of people have had issues with their labels fading from the sun or elements, but the sharpie absorbs into the wood and so far it seems to work ok. :)

quilt mommy I did the same things but I would break mine up into hunks and put them in different places and the popsicle stick would always end up somewhere where it was a pain to find so it was very time consuming. With the bottom part marked, it makes it a lot easier.

master- I always just put the seeds on top and spray with the sink sprayer and 95% of everything germinates, but maybe someone else will come along and tell you something different.
