I did an order with Harris seeds last week and the seeds got here four days after I ordered online. Two days ago I made significant orders with NESeed and GourmetSeed International, I have order confirmations that both are on their way.

Honestly, order sooner than later. It's early January and they're shipping quickly. By February that won't be possible, by March they'll be behind and by April they'll be making substitutions and refunds.

Go for it now.

I just ordered from Select Seeds and got the seeds in pretty quick. You can request a catalog from them, but I find their web site has even more information and is very easy to navigate and find what you want. Their prices are not bad at all, compared to Burpee and some of the other big seed companies. Another plus is that the bulk of their seeds are for open-pollinated or heirloom plants, which as I understand it, means you'll be able to collect seed from most (or all) of them which will come true. I ordered from them last year and was very pleased.

Another point is that while the seed companies will indeed get very busy, in your zone I wouldn't worry too much about having to ws right away. You should have quite a while to go before the last frost! So if you don't get your seed for a week or two, or even longer, it's not a problem.

Most of these will have veggies you can take a look at them there are more of course.. but Pine Tree and Baker Creek are very good pricing for the most part for what they offer. Johhnys and Thompson and Morgan can be a little on the expensive side. Ive ordered from all of these companies and all of them are very good. Im sure there are others.

I noticed some are sold out from ones I purchased late last summer.

I've had very good luck with Seeds Trust, see they have tons of things but no photos, very generous quantities, and most seem to be only $1.95. They have different things, not just heirloom vegetables.

I sowed some old (like 3 years?) herbs in pots under my lights, and so far they are germinating well, maybe the ones so far I picked up at the local nursery in a 25-cent bin.
