I wonder if I could grow beets in my garden that is home to many woodland creatures like groundhogs, since it is underground.

Do you love beets? Ummm I just boil them and add some butter.

    hmmm.
I'll have to ask the other gardeners, maybe the savvy creatures dig them up.

Non-stop, in a marathon attempt to get the rest of my seeds tucked away, ready to sprout, before my winter sowing becomes spring. I took two short breaks all day and stopped at 11:00 tonight and still have "just a couple more" packs of seeds. I have to go get ~another ! bag of potting soil and those super big zip loc bags tomorrow. Then I will start "working on" the plants in the garage under lights I'm going to divide or root cuttings from. Also move to larger pots some things I rooted in the fall. This is soooo much more fun than cleaning house, but it would have been nice if the bag of potting soil hadn't dumped itself over under the breakfast table.....
