I may be misunderstanding the concept a little.

Let me make sure I am getting this right, your taking a 2 litter splitting it then putting it on the yogurt bottom half??

i wish i could post a pic but my camera quit on me. i'm only cutting the bottom inch or two off of the 2-liter enough to get rid of the flutes .i dont need to slit it because it slides right over an upside down qt container and fits pretty snug maybe even tight enough to keep from blowing away.i cut the bottom off the qt but leave the lid on to be the bottom of the pot it makes . its a removable bottom flower-pot with a hot cap. i have about 50 qt cont. i've saved but i have to stop returning my soda jugs.they need to be the kind with straight sides or they dont fit . coke jugs dont work. a picture is worth a thousand words but a camera is worth more than i have at the end of the month. ric

Ok I was close!! Well wsing it doesn't have to be that much work. Those qt containers I would maybe instead of splitting those just make sure enough drainage holes are in the bottom, and make sure to cut a hole in the lid for ventilation.

The soda bottles split those and keep the "flutes" or what I call feet of the bottom and plant in it as is. Just make sure the cap is off.

Water bottles are my favorite, though I use the cottage cheese containers and other containers also.

yes i see my set-up isn't really well suited to ws. i am using two containers for one. not very efficient.it will work well to protect a single pepper from late frosts and cutworm which is what i designed it for. i think I'll use half gallon milk jugs I've started saving as my first ws attempts.i think ws may be the answer to the problems I've been having with seeds sprouting in mid -winter in my fridge before I'm ready for them. thanks ric

Cutworms are one the reasons I grow marigolds!! I grow many marigolds around my maters. :D
