Dark Ceiling in Bedroom?

I have a vaulted ceiling in our bedroom that is about 14 feet. I would like to paint it in a high-gloss dark pewter (silver cuff-link by RL). I would like the walls to be a soft bone/white. (a reverse of what it is now). Has anyone tried this and how did it turn out? (Window tx will follow)

Also... you can paint the flat part of the ceiling the dark pewter and cut it with 1/8 white on the slanted walls. It is subtle but adds more movement.

Ah, the forgotten ceiling! Most just leave it white but a detailed ceiling can really add pizzazz to a room. I have painted ceilings darker than walls, covered them in brick, wallpaper, painted it to look like the sky, etc and they all turned out lovely. I say go for it!

I love a painted ceiling and I think the Ralph Lauren silver cuff link would be great. Go for it!

With a ceiling that high you really can get creative with color.. Sounds like a nice soothing color, it's just paint. Give it a go. Hope that helps. Charmean Neithart

With a high ceiling you can play with dark colours , and don't you see the ceilings at Temples and Churches , so you can do a lot , I'd suggest Try wallpaper .

Definitely go for it!
I have done a bedroom ceiling wine colored and it created a warm and relaxing feel. I also have painted an office a dark copper metallic with off-white walls and it is rich and beautiful. Have fun with ceilings! Look up and enjoy the view!

Glad you like the idea. I've used this on several houses when working in a room with either cathedral ceilings or a room inside a roofline and it adds dimension and interest. All you have to do is have a gallon cut with 1/8 at the paint store when you get the dark pewter. Have fun!
