I'm honestly not sure about that, but you could instead use a water conditioner that treats for chlorine (and perhaps chloramines, depeding on your local water). That can be added to the water just before adding it to the tank and it means not having to let it sit for days.

Just get water conditioner like Chlour out or prime for instance, it FAR less trouble. Why go through all that trouble?

I would fill up a gallon jug (or a few of them), formerly used for milk, to keep on hand.

Unless you are keeping really finicky exotic fish, I would just do the chlorine/chloramamine remover as mentioned above. I don't think boiling water will gain you much - chlorine will disipate in just a few hours - probably about as long as it would take your boiled water to cool.
