I have a 55 gallon, well cycled aquarium with no trace of Nitrites or ammonia, and low nitrate levels. I do weekley 10% water changes and use conditioner for the new water. I have Rosey barbs, Gouramis, corey cats, redtailed loach, one killifish, one pleco, one bala shark.
I noticed white salt like spots on my fish about a month ago so i began treating for ich, i raised the temp to 86, added salt, and used the ich medication ( i think it had malachite green and something else in it) i did the ich treatement for 14 days without water changes. It has been about 2 weeks and ive resumed my water changes and haven't added any more salt. Anyway, all the fish look great now except two Gouramis just died and the bala shark has been verticle for about a week and looks like he's having a hard time breathing/rapid gill movement. No more signs of ich, and water conditions are still great. Any idea whats up with him?
