He's happy, healthy, and wants to breed.

When bettas breed, the eggs are placed into the bubblenest. So hence your betta is doing what comes naturally!! Sounds like he's really happy in his new home!!

PS - It's cool to watch bettas maintain their nests. They'll take bubbles and move them from one place to another... or blow some bubbles and then carefully place them. Pretty neat!

So are you going to be shopping for an attractive female Betta so he can finish his nesting? Ha!

I have a female betta who is in a 10 gallon all by her lonesome. Might get her some friends this weekend. :]

His nest now resembles the remnants of a soap bubble fight it's grown so much! Poor fish, he mothers it so!

I'd like to end this mating search of his, but I would have nowhere to put the baby bettas.

From what I have learned while at this forum, the males make them when they are happy and or wanting to mate.

It looks like soap foam. It's interesting to watch it grow each day!
