Own root or grafted?

I just bought an Honorine de Brabant at Home Depot (Paramount brand) yesterday. Usually I stay away from the roses there (I'm a newbie to OGRs, but have been an own-root Ashdown and UR disciple), but it was like the 3rd time I saw it and I took a chance...couldn't beat it for 7 bucks...anyway...does anybody know if it's own root or grafted? I have an email in to MEA nursery (the company on the label) but haven't heard anything yet.

Also, for Olga, I've been lurking on this forum for a while soaking up knowledge and being rose enabled. Your beautiful pictures of Deuil de Dr. Reynaud inpsired me to get one myself...it's already throwing out those big canes you mentioned! I'll have to post a picture when I figure out how to do it.

i bought an honorine from k-mart, on clearance, and it is grafted. i gently pulled the soil away from the center until i could see, but you can hedge your bets and start cuttings..that's what i did..she's not patented, and so far my cuttings look good..so it may be easy to root.good luck, donna

Thanks Donna. I guess cuttings are always a backup. Something new to try! I tried my best to check for a bud union, there was nothing visible and I dug an inch or so into the dirt and didn't feel anything...I'm sure it's safe to assume it's grafted, but I'm still holding a faint hope :)
