The reason you found so little info, I think, is because they're actually called Endler's. They're pretty much the same thing as guppies except that their mouthes are smaller, and their colors don't vary much, just the patterns of the same colors. The females are never colorful the way female guppies can be, but I think they're cute. I actually prefer the females over the males since I think they're gaudy, but that's just me. The rest of the fish-keeping community likes them well enough. They can interbreed with guppies as well. If you mix genders of either species, be prepared to have hundreds of babies coming out your ears. Endlers' mouths are so small that they usually can't eat their fry.

Be careful where you get your Endler's, because too many commercial breeders have allowed their stock to interbreed with Guppies or worse, intentionally crossed them to get more color.

If you want pure stock, it's available, but best stick with aquarists who understand the importances of maintaining the purity of this unique little fish.
