Sick Betta?

I've had my betta for about a year now, and i've sundenly noticed his fin has a white strip down the front of it. it is very bright, and when closly looked at it's as if he has lost pigmentation. I admit i haven't really been paying much attention to himn lately, so while i take care of him each day I havent really looked at him untill today, so i dont really know how fast this whit strip has developed. I'm wondering if someone can help me figure out what it is? I'd add a photo, but i don't know how to exactly.
