If you want to get a small, live aquatic plant for your betta's bowl, try lucky bamboo. This plant stands up well in the bowl, keeps the bowl clean, and grows pretty fast. My betta, Royal Blue, like resting in the roots and underwater shoots of the plant. Just make sure to change the water every two weeks and buy one that is tall enough for the leaves to be out of the bowl, so it doesn't rot.
