I'm pissed off now because the lady at Home Depot sold me wrong Monstera. I looked at the tag just few minutes ago and it said cutleaf philo. I did some research and it's a tree philo!!! All i wanted a Monstera Deliciosa because it's grows like a vine. Could I cut it back to control the size if i need to?

You probably have Philodendron selloum. These philos can develop thick trunks, and are not something you typically cut back. They do not grow as fast as the vining forms. Why not exchange for a monstera?

Note that monsteras are in a different subfamily than philodendrons.

I do not recommend putting salt or coffee on these plants. In the growing season, I like to apply slow-release fertilizer.

I did called Home Depot to try to get Latin name for the plant i mention above, they said it is Monstera Deliciosa after they looked at their log. I am more relived knowing that my plant is the correct one. Any special fertilizer should i feed it and how often. I know this type of Monstera climbs on tree trunks, but i plan to cut it when it becomes unmanageable.

I also explained to the empolyee at garden center at Home Depot that they have two different kind of Monstera and I also gave them the correct names for them and they appreciated it.

Thank-you in advance if you all decide to give me tips and advice regards on how to take care of it. Should I fertilize it which have higher Nitrogen than other K and P?

You could use the regular Osmocote outdoor/indoor. I do have a monstera deliciosa which I set down in a corner of the yard. It sent out some aerial roots and anchored itself there. I don't remember if I've ever fertilized it. They can get pretty thick--some people have to use chainsaws to cut them. In time, the leaves will develop more holes in the center and will even put out fruits which are edible.
