Well, there are over 100 species of Jacks so I'm afriad you will need to narrow it down a bit more :o) What I would suggest is going to the International Aroid Site and looking at the JIP there to see if you see one that looks familiar. Many species can attain 4-5 feet in height so that does not narrow it down either.....some have long tongues some short clubby ones....most likely it was imported since the only two species we have here are triphyllum and dracontium.....very pretty, but not gaudy!! Of course, they probably have the correct botanical name at the garden if you can ask there. Best of luck...take a pic and post for us :o) Dan

That might make sense since it is a very common Japanese species. You can get these at many on-line nurseries, although it is likely way too late in the year now for anyone to have any truly dormant tubers. Please do post a pic :o) Dan
