If the planting medium in the pot remained moist, then the move to more sun most likely caused some of the wilting. Since, however, the wilting continued over several days it's probably entirely natural and had nothing to do with the move at all. Once pollinated, rhododendron flowers do go by pretty quickly.

Since it bloomed beautifully in full shade the move may have been unnecessary. It's not at all easy to find rhododendrons that set lots of buds in full shade, the flowers do not fade as much and tend to last longer in shade. The original position may have been the best place.
