Not true....atleast some are self-fertile....often depends on the age of the plant...you can look inside the spathe and see if both sexes are there easy enough. I would harvest the seed in the fall and sow them around and about to try and get a nice little Arisaema forest going :o) Dan

Good to know. I wasn't looking at the time so I didn't see if both sexes were there, now all I know is there were female flowers at least. I'm definitely going for the nice little Arisaema forest, toward that end I started a bunch of sikokianum from seed last year. It wasn't on my internet list of self-fertile species, though, so I thought I was going to have to wait several more years for seed from my one mature plant. This should help move things along.
