I've never heard of anyone trying it, they propagate so easily other ways that there's no need. If you're after a clone, the small offsets they produce would be okay. They're produced vegetatively, not sexually, so should be identical to the parent.

good question redbeard.. i agree with other posters..konjac,and the other "sports"..produce side corms so easily ..easy way to get more plants that way..
with the amorphs that dont produce the side corms.."normally"..is where the leaf cuttings are done ..
even though..i got a side corm off one of my hewettii..from last growing season.. odd..huh..:)
i would say go for it .i would think same results would be gotten as with the other amorphs..

The natural offsets of k.'shattered glass' are notoriously unreliable in terms of passing along the variegation, or at least that's what I always hear, so, I'd like to see if variegated leaf cuttings would be more reliable. From what I've read, k leaf cuttings are a real challenge.sometimes I like a challenge....

I did an experiment recently with my konjac. I took a cutting of one leaflet and dipped it in rooting hormone. Then put it in a loose mix of coir and sand and have been keeping it in 70%+ humidity.
I couldn't leave it alone and so I examined the base of the cutting and found one strong little white root. This was after a month.
I will try more cuttings in a few days and see if I can get them to produce new tubers before winter hits.
