Bottom Side Up?

Yesterday, I planted a bed of fifty 'White Christmas' caladium tubers. With a few of the tubers, I had a problem deciding which end of the bulb was the "growing end" and which end was the "rooting end." Does anyone know whether caladiums, as with some other bulbs, sprout and grow if they are inadvertently planted upside-down?

smaller tubers tend to rot if planted upside down... soak them overnight and keep them a ziplock bag place at a warm area (like back side of refrigerator), you can see the sprouting tips and roots within a week.. much easier to plant at this stage..

On the other hand usually the flatter side is the bottom..
