I have two A. sikokianum, both of which bloomed this spring. One looked as if it was pollinated and produced the fruit, but I'm not sure how this happened because the flowers bloomed separately. Can they self-pollinate? If so I would imagine they would be sterile seeds. In any case, it got hot here in NJ recently, and the plant's leaves wilted that had the fruit. The rest of the plant was still firm, until today when it wilted. I reached in and grabbed the bulb, which seemed to be healthy but the outer part kind of mushed off. Can anyone help me decide how to take care of it the rest of the summer? Should I lift it and dry it? Or should I continue to water it? I'm afraid it will rot if I do. Thanks for the help!!
