My question is for colocasia and alocasia. I really like giant leaves and I've noticed that once they start producing babies the leaf size is never is grand.

Is there something that can be added to the soil to decrease offset production without decreasing vitality of the plant?

My odora has the largest leaf and it is much smaller now that has an offest. The same went for esculenta when I had them.

Keep in mind I have a short growing season outside and a long winter inside- in zone 5

I'd rather have one plant that makes a statement then several rhubarb sized plants.
