Actually, you now have two corms. This is normal reproduction in the species. Since you've already dug them up you can divide the corms and spread a good anti-fungal over the division. Wrap the corms in damp burlap and store them in a dark place until spring. Once you begin to see new growth replant the corms and you'll have two plants.
