Pampas grass sprouts!

I am super excited about this. I have about three containers that have sprouted! I gathered the seed from my uncle's pampas grass. I LOVE ornamental grass and NEED tons of it. I live on the family farm and have tons of ugly junk piles, etc. I can hide with pampas grass. Sprouting from seed means my dad and uncle don't have to divide as many of their plants to give me some. I have about ten milk jugs sown and have lots more seed and will do cups next. Sewing my tomatos and some annuals tonight in 44 oz cups (only about half full of mix) and I keep the cups in clear plastic totes.

Congrats!! Why didn't i think to grab seeds in the fall from my moms' grasses before she hacked em down?! I also NEED grasses but only because i love how they look by the beach and blowing in the lakefront breeze. Those grasses should transforn your yard this year! :)

Kool! I've planted some pompass grass from what looked like a very old pack of seeds from a trade. They are sprouting like crazy.

I ended up with about 90% germination in about 15 gallon and half gallon milk jugs, so I should have LOTS of grass. And I will be gathering a LOT more seed from my dad and uncle this fall.
