I believe this is the same plant of which I acquired seeds through a great gardenwebber just a month or two ago. The seeds she sent me are in berry form. They are red, and I think I am to remove the red covering just before I plant. I think the seeds need to stay moist, maybe not stored too long? Anyway, unless someone with more experience replies, my guess it that your seeds will be red when they are ripe. Don't know about the mother bulb indoors, as I plan to try to overwinter the plant in the ground (if I get the seeds to grow). Other voo doo lilies wintered dormant indoors, I believe, need to stay pretty dry so they don't rot, I think. I really don't know much about this as I'm extremely new to aroids, and want to grow voo doo lilies very badly, so I've begun investigating. However, since no one has replied to your post, and I'd love to see other input, too, the only help I can offer is to say that seeds I received were red. Thus, I conclude that redness indicates ripeness. Hope your plant is doing well now that winter is really underway (can't wait for winter to be over).

I don't have any first hand experience with these seeds, but everything that I read about any seeds from aroids is that they should be sown immediately after ripening for best results.

The seeds should never be allowed to dry out.
