This is indeed most probably a sp. and appears to be part of the sect. Belolonchium. I have a couple of plants from northern Ecuador that resemble the one depicted. My bet is that it will have a pale green, recurved spathe. Certainly it will be the leaves that make it handsome when it grows on, not the infl.

There have been some advances made, particularly in Thailand and Holland, with regard to the production of andraeanum-type hybrids with yellow/yellow-ish spathes. While those on the plants and images that I have seen are rather a dilute butter-yellow color, a coleague reports that he handled a plant in Bangkok about 18 mos ago with a well-formed, clear yellow spathe.

Thanks for the input. I've seen several plants with similar leaves growing wild in various locations. There are a LOT of Anthuriums in the woods around here. We have a place up at at about 2400 meters and even at that elevation there are at least 5 or 6 common species.

The guy who sold it to me is a regular vendor at one of the parks here and I suspect he thinks there is someting interesting about the plant. He is pretty serious about his bussiness. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.
