I'm baaaack.

I had serious health issues this year with my diabetes and I went into a coma and totaled my beloved Volvo S60 when and hit a tree. Thank god I didn't hurt anyone else. After spending time in the hospital I am much better.

The Newbie Seed Project wil be up and running this fall. Until then, consider donating to wintersown.org or other traders who have offers. I will be up and running and have already started cardio.

Glad to see you back. Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery. I remember how grateful I was last year to receive one of your newbie seed packages.

It's wonderful to have you back. Your encouragement, advice and enabling have all been missed. Hope you're well enough to get some gardening in this spring. I know there is a lovely bit of weather here in the midwest this week.

I am glad you are OK. Welcome back.

I hope I will still be considered a newbie when you get the project up and running.

Jeez, Louise. Glad you're back. Gardening is great exercise.

Good news! Keep taking care of yourself. :O)

Oh wow! Well please know that you have been missed and I am so happy that you are doing better.

So glad you're on the mend and are going to be all right. That was one huge setback and could have been much, much worse!

    Bakemom,

Glad that you're back. My husband deals with type 2 diabetes that so far he can control through diet and exercise, but I wish you the best. You and I have not yet traded but hopefully soon.

Great Googley Moogley! Well I am sooo glad to hear you are doing better! Glad to see you back too, it just isn't the same around here without YOU!

Yeah ... we have our bakemom back!! The forum isn't quite the same without your zaniness. So glad to hear your circumstances have improved and that the newbie project will resume in the fall -- it feeds my need to collect seed upon seed upon seed. Did you sow Mexican hat and sea holly this year?

Goodness, Bakemom! I'm sorry you were in an accident, I am so glad you are OK.

Too bad about the Volvo, that's awful!

There are other Volvos, though, but there is only ONE Bakemom!

We really missed you, I'm so happy you are back, and hopefully the worst is behind you now. Stay well!

I'm still to scared to drive, but that's going away. Yesterday I did my own laundry, went shopping and cleaned.

Did I mention I lost my job? It's actually a blessing b/c of the atmosphere I was working in. I had to see a therapist who told me I had secondary post traumatic stress disorder from all the violence and victims.

Once I get my strength back, I'm thinking insurance defense.

Got my seeds out and made my WS list. Can't wait to get started. Got a bag of Miracle Gro in the garage calling my name.

I'm so glad you are better, what a lot you've been through. Maybe without your work stress, your diabetes will calm down too. Have fun WSing, but please take care of yourself

Bakemom, glad you are back after all of that. Getting over the fear after a car accident is a tough thing - my strategy was starting with very short trips to do errands, as you described. Now I'm cruising most of the back roads, and know that I'll tackle the highway system (new area + high speed city driving = fear for me) soon. You are a trooper with all you've been through.

Thank heavens for gardening, eh? Happy spring!

That is a horrible thing to happen to someone. Sounds like you were lucky it wasn't any worse than it was. Glad you are getting better now. Take care of yourself:)

Oh, my---you've certainly been through a tough time! So glad you're back, tho (((hugs))) As soon as you get your hands in the dirt, everything will be back in balance ;-)

Glad to hear that you are recovering from your accident and your diabetes is more stable. Being out of the hospital and able to do some things for yourself must give you a real sense of accomplishment.

I think one has post traumatic stress after an accident as well and hope that you talk to your therapist about it if needed. It was a long time before I could ride in a car without gasping and grabbing the door handle. Fortunately I had no trouble driving...control issue I am sure.

Enjoy your winter sowing. Think of it as strengthening exercises.

Hi Bakemon: I am so happy to know that you are on the mend, and you were spared injury in the accident. Diabetes is in my family (not me so far) and in my husband's. He keeps his under control by lots of exercise (Badminton 4 times a week), pays very close attention to his meal times, and continues to eat well-balanced meals. Controlling it is different for everyone, it's just a matter of finding out what works for you. Be dilligent in taking care of yourself. Gardening will surely help. Welcome back!!

Before you posted today, I heard nothing but praise and great admiration for this woman named Bakemom from so many people on this forum. I'm sorry about your accident, but am so glad that it was not worst. Take care of yourself and get back to WS when you can. It is good therapy for you and others. In the Fall when you start back up the Newbie project, I'm sure you'll be swamped with donations of seeds and supplies. You know all you have to do is ask. I took your advice and mailed an envelope to Trudi yesterday.

Oh, Bakemom, I'm so sorry to learn of your misfortune! Thank goodness you are recovering from your ordeal. (Also very sorry about your Volvo...:-( )

We are all behind you sending good thoughts for a full recovery. This forum just wouldn't be the same without you.

Now, grab a jug and make some magic happen!

    Kris
