Mine isn't very happy, but it keeps getting new leaves. I think it's too dry in the house, and I do what I can to raise the humidity but it's nothing like summer in the south! I've seen them in a friend's house in absolutely gorgeous shape in the middle of the winter, so I think it's more a matter of light, warmth, and humidity.

My hilo is looking ratty in a cool (50 degree) greenhouse. The humidity is fine out there but I think it's going dormant. Which is fine so long as it doesn't die.

THis plant is most likely a Xanthosoma , and could go dormant just like the X atrovirens does in cooler climates.
It stays growing here in the tropics , were the atrovirens will die right down without extra watering .
When you repot , clean and study the tuber and compare with an Alocasia .
