Question about potential problems using glass tile for backsplash.

I want to use a 3x6 glass subway tile in a stacked pattern for a very simple backsplash. The tile I have is clear glass with the bright orange color coming from the backing on the tile. I've talked to one installer that is encouraging me to go to a ceramic tile because of all the problems with cutting glass tile. He said it is hard to get the edges clean with the color coming through consistently. Is this a real problem or is this installer just not interested in doing my little job?
