What a great spot for a wine bar! Hang a glass rack at the top and a decorate wine holder in the corner.

If you don't think you will use the sink, you could remove the faucet, custom fit a ledge and add shelving. Or leave as is and just add the shelving. [houzz=]

I think it could make a very nice bar area. I'm attaching a photo of a small stand alone bar cabinet to show how it stores bottles and glasses, I'm sure something designed similarly could fit into those cabinets below the sink. Then I am attaching a photo of a larger nook with shelves and lighting that I thought was sort of inspiring for your space. I was also pleasantly surprised to notice that your bar area has an electrical socket in case you wanted to add a blender for frozen drinks in the summer or perhaps use your iPad or Kindle to look up cocktail recipes.

Remove the sink and wooden cabinet in the bottom. Instead of wooden cabinet have a clear refrigerator box for wine. Then wooden panel with iron work for shelves. Plank of same wood place where the sink is for prep table. Lighting on top.

How about a water feature?

What's behind the sink wall?

Thank you all so much, great ideas and that picture looks just like my space! The wall backs up to an office, wouldn't want to open that up, my husband loves to hide in there
