Master bedroom ceiling

I have a 1959 vintage home with vaulted beam ceilings in LR/DR/Kitchen and entry. My Master Bedroom is a flat nearly 8' high ceiling. I have room in attic to raise ceiling. Am thinking of several options: Barrel ceiling 10' high at high point of barrel; vaulted to follow roof line 12 + feet high, or a flat ceiling raised to 10 ' high. I'd appreciate suggestions or other ideas and suggestions for materials as well. Henry

I'd start looking at as many photos as possible to narrow down what you want to do in the space. What is the overall style of the house?

I feel like with the more angular lines of a vaulted ceiling, I'd opt for the raised flat ceiling rather than a barrel ceiling.

Maybe a tray ceiling?

I believe it's bad feng shui if the sleeping area has a "pointy" section such as a vaulted ceiling. I like the photo below since it creates more height with a flat piece at the highest point without the added expense of barrel vault ceilings.
