It might be . Nice plant, but tends to be a short-lived perennial, dying out after a couple years or so in my experience. You can save seed and start new plants as needed.

It does sound like 'Goblin', and if you don't want to save seeds, then divide them every two years. Gaillardia tends to bloom itself out...meaning it spends so much energy on the blooms during the growing season, it ends up killing itself. If you divide, you refresh the plant.

Thank you for your response. I had looked at some pictures of Gaillardia Goblin and I thought it might me that. The plants have a lot of buds on them but it is possible that we may have snow this week so that will probably end its bloom for this year. (I will remember to divide it.)

Check to see if you might have Gaillardia Arizona Sun. I picked this plant up in trade this year and it reminds me of a smaller version of Goblin, which I used to grow. It's so cute, and makes a nice edge-of-the-border plant. I still have buds on AS but our temps are below normal and have been for a couple of weeks. We might get some rain mixed with snow and freezing temperatures, so I probably will not get to see any more blooms.

Though the plant looked a little like Goblin or Arizona Sun I think I have finally found the plant that looks the most like the one I have. It is
Gaillardia Aristata "Primavera". It has more yellow on the petals. Thanks everyone.
