Overwintering perennials

The weather up here took a sharp turn last week with highs in the low 30s, overnight lows in the teens to lower 20s - YIKES it's early for that.

Well, I forgot I had a smattering of potted perennials that I hadn't had time to plant sitting under my redbud tree, and when I finally remembered they were out there and went to bring them in yesterday, they were solid blocks.

Normally when I store potted stuff in the garage (attached to house but unheated) over winter they do eventually completely freeze. What I'm worried about, though, is these perennials froze in a snap, it wasn't a gradual slow freeze, so I'm concerned that may have damaged them.

What do you think - are they going to be toast? I have a hibiscus, a clematis, and five 1-quart pots of Japanese bloodgrass. Also have some sedum, but I don't think I could knock those off if I shipped them to Antartica for the winter.
